Quick Guide to the Iowa Data Atlas

Following is a brief introduction to key elements of the Iowa Data Atlas.

Chapter Content

Each chapter is introduced with a brief description of the content, links to the data tables, and a list of data sources for related data.

Table Content

Each table contains a title, a table number, and information describing the vintage of the data, the source agency or program, the release date, and explanatory notes. Unless otherwise noted, the tables compare values for the state of Iowa and its 99 counties. In some cases, only selected years of data are displayed on screen. To obtain all available data years, download the data set to your own computer (see below).

Downloading Tables

A link near the bottom of each table allows you to download the data tables into spreadsheet format for use on your own computer.

A-Z Index

Use the A-Z Index to view a detailed, alphabetical listing of topics and subjects covered in the Iowa Data Atlas with links to the related chapters.

List of All Tables

The Atlas Table Index provides a comprehensive listing and links for all of the tables in the Iowa Data Atlas. The index also provides the sources and release dates for each data table.
